The benefits that you will receive are based on the terms of the contract that were negotiated between your employer and the dental insurance company, not your dental office. The goal of most dental insurance policies is to provide basic care for specific dental services. Because most dental disease is preventable, dental benefits plans are structured to encourage patients to get the regular, routine care so vital to preventing and diagnosing the onset of serious disease. In fact, most dental benefits plans require patients to assume a greater portion of the costs for treatment of dental disease than for preventive procedures. The services are selected based on the cost of the policy to your employer and the negotiated terms with the dental insurance company. The benefits that you receive from the dental insurance company for your current insurance plan have nothing to do with you or achieving a high quality, complete result. Because the benefits you currently have are decided between your employer and the insurance company, many services may not be covered. The selection on non-covered services is not based on what you need or want, but is based strictly on the contract with the insurance company. This is why so many dental patients become confused about dental insurance. Our experienced insurance coordinators work diligently to maximize your coverage utilization as well as advise you of your particular policy details.  We accept direct assignment of benefits, which means patient is responsible for  deductable and co-pay only. Unfortunately, some of the services that you may need or want will not be covered by your dental insurer. Our goal is to help you achieve and maintain optimal dental care, which is not necessarily the goal of your dental insurance company. The benefit of having such a coverage is negotiated contract fees for most dental procedures. The goal of the insurance company is to provide only the negotiated benefits for the specifically selected services. Upon completion of your initial visit  your dental needs as well as maintenance  regimen will be established and explained to you in detail.
